About Curt Brickley

A Life Marked by Struggle and Change

Curt Brickley is a Christian songwriter, poet, and storyteller whose life has been marked by both adventure and adversity and ultimately redemption. His story is one of discipline, survival, and faith shaped through real life experience.

Curt’s early life was defined by drive and discipline. He played Division I football for the Arkansas Razorbacks, served as a U.S. Marine and distinguished honor graduate, was twice meritoriously promoted, and lived with a strong sense of purpose through challenge, travel, and risk.

Over the years, his life changed dramatically. He survived four heart attacks and eight heart surgeries, including a massive cardiac event that left him fighting for his life during a solo bike ride in rural Montana.

The aftermath brought severe cognitive challenges, including memory loss, recurring mini-strokes, and Right Frontal Lobe brain damage. After more than a year of cognitive rehabilitation, many of those challenges remain, including difficulties with memory coding and retrieval, processing speed, and executive functioning. There were seasons when even the simplest parts of daily life became difficult to navigate.

When Brokenness Became a New Beginning

In the middle of that season of loss, something unexpected began to happen. Because of the brain damage and what neurologists call paradoxical creativity, Curt found himself able to do something he had struggled to do for years: turn his devotional writings and personal testimony into songs. What had been quiet for so long came alive again in the form of honest music rooted in faith, struggle, and Scripture.

Since then, he has written and recorded dozens of songs about grief, endurance, doubt, and the hope found in Jesus Christ.

At the center of it all is a simple truth: Jesus Christ is still faithful, even in the hardest places.

Curt writes for the weary, the hurting, and those quietly carrying burdens they do not always speak out loud, pointing them toward Christ through honest, Scripture-rooted music.

Music and stories from the road

These songs were not written in comfort. They came from seasons of struggle, silence, questions, and learning to trust God when life did not make sense. Alongside the music, you will find devotionals and reflections that go deeper into the Scripture and stories behind each song. This is where the music is unpacked and the meaning is shared for real life.
